Where the crop has a name. And the growers are organised.
In our current base of public sources, the Visayas and Bohol above all are where growing is best documented. It is also where a named variety, Ubi Kinampay, carries a food culture - and an application announced in June 2026 for a geographical indication.
Most documented Bohol records are farmers associations across Alburquerque, Lila, San Isidro, Cortes and Dagohoy, appearing through DA-SAAD support and training sessions run with VSU PhilRootcrops. A provincial growers association and a young farmers cooperative are cited as partners of the Bohol Ube Project. Very few of them have a website, and none publishes volumes - reaching them realistically means going through the association or the programme.
Aggregation and processing on the island.
Alongside the associations, an aggregation and processing company operating from Buenavista and Cebu publishes powders by variety, formulation work and planting material, and carries the largest number of documented public formats of the whole base. Its published prices are domestic quotations excluding packing, freight and export costs, which is why they belong in a quotation rather than on this page.
Kinampay, and what the GI application means.
IPOPHL reported on 16 June 2026 that it had received a geographical indication application for Bohol Ubi Kinampay, filed by the provincial government of Bohol. The announcement gives no filing date, and an application is not a granted registration. Kinampay is one named variety among others, and neither Philippine origin nor a purple colour makes a product Kinampay: that claim needs lot-level traceability.
Eastern Visayas adds a different kind of record: a multi-purpose cooperative processing ube products in Tunga, and the root-crop research centre of Visayas State University, whose sessions are how several Bohol associations appear in the public record at all.

Every record comes from the consolidated public research of 9 September 2026: 67 organisations, 72 public references, formats and price tiers and 18 support organisations, collected from official sites, seller pages, Philippine institutional sources, trade catalogues and press. No organisation has been contacted, audited or qualified. Category and region are assigned by hand from the documented location; a region is left blank rather than guessed. Personal contact details and published prices are deliberately not republished here: prices are volatile domestic quotations and belong in a quotation, not on a directory page.
